Varied Vases

Hi Everyone,

Usually I share some of my cards that take quite a bit of time to make.  I truly love getting immersed in a project that has lots of details to it and is labor intensive.  However every once in a while I revert back to "simple stamping", just taking a few items and creating something quick and easy.  Sometimes there is just beauty in the simplicity of a project.

For today's cards, I created 3 levels of effort.  Each one adds something from the first card while keeping the same look.  It funny because of all 3 cards the 1st and simplest is my favorite.

Here are some links to other cards that I have made with the same set:

Piece of Cake

Hi Everyone,

Every year when the retiring list comes out I get both happy and sad....  Happy because I'm so excited to see what is getting carried over and what will be new but also a little sad because some favorites are retiring.  While I know I can always keep and use the retiring products I tend to start to gravitate towards what is new.

In today's post I'm using both carry over and retiring sets.  The Piece of Cake set is from the Occasions 2019 catalog and will be in the 2019-2020 Annual Catalog and Better Together is from the 2018-2019 Annual and is retiring.  If you are looking for a great all around set then you need to look at Better Together to see if it will fit your needs.  I have just loved using it.

I love the tufted 3D Embossing Folder and one of my favorite tricks with it is to fill the little indented dots with another color just to add to the affect.  It makes it look more quilted at least in my mind :)

Hope you enjoy!

Broadway Birthday

Hi Everyone,

Today is a bit of a funny day for me....  My twins turned 18 today!  I have no more babies. Okay, I know at 17 they weren't really babies anymore but now they keep telling me they are adults.  Somehow that seems like a stretch too :)

Anyway I decided to make them the same birthday card as they tend to end up getting stepped on on my floor....  But I thought I would share it with you since it always seems to be harder to come up with masculine cards.  I combined stamps from the Broadway Birthday and Birthday Backgrounds sets.  Both of these sets are very versatile and so fun to use.  The Broadway Birthday set also has matching framelits and even though I didn't use them for this card its always a plus for me.  I just loved combining these colors and I hope you do too!

Hope you enjoy!

Bloom by Bloom

Hi Everyone,

I love Stampin' Up's Designer Series Paper (DSP) but sometimes I feel a bit limited in backgrounds for cards because I want a color combo that just isn't available at the time.  So I decided to create my own background using 1 of the stamps from the Bloom by Bloom set.  This was very easy to do and you can use the technique to make any color combination background that you would like.

I paired the background with a few other stamps from the Bloom by Bloom set and heat embossed the images.  I think the shiny black is a nice contrast the the colors on the background I created.  The Black Foil I used is a hidden gem - at least in my opinion.  I just love how it looks with the embossed images.

Hope you enjoy!
